~ ASCA  Nationals  2009 ~
Greeley, Colorado

Belle and I headed south to Greeley on the morning of Thursday September 24, to attend our first ASCA Nationals.  I must say, we were NOT disappointed in any aspect of the fantastic week we had, hosted by the Colorado Australian Shepherd Association as they presented their "Rocky Mountain High".  All the details of the trip can be found on our blog at www.casselcreek.blogspot.com

Results from the show ring ...

Sept 26 ASC of Utah pre-show "Ruff Enough To Wear Pink"
We made the cut out of 19 bitches under Judge Sharon Sparks (12-18 month class).

Sept 27 Southern Colorado ASC pre-show
Again, made the cut from 14 bitches (12-18 months) under Judge Sandra Cornwell.
In the Sweeps in the 12-15 month class, we placed SECOND under Judge Regina Gravette.  We loved showing to Reggie and were very pleased with our 2nd place rosette.

Sept 28 High Plains ASC pre-show
Under Judge Michael Ryan in a class of 19 bitches (12-18 months), we have no idea if we made the cut or not LOL as Mr. Ryan only selected 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.  I'm sure we would have been 5th if he was handing that out :)

In the 12-15 month Sweeps, under Judge Jeanne Joy Hartnagle, we went FIRST!!  It was a long hot day, waiting for our class to go into the ring, but well worth it.  A personal thrill for me to show to a Hartnagle, and an absolute dream come true to walk away with a FIRST PLACE rosette.  When the time came for the Sweeps Finals, Belle and I showed our hearts out and worked very hard.  Jeanne really liked her and pulled her to the front of the line.  In the end, she gave the win to a little red merle bitch, looking very much like a Las Rocosa Aussie.  Nevertheless, although a little disappointed, I was very pleased to have made it that far.

NATIONALS Sept 29 - Oct 2
In the 12-15 Sweeps, in a class of about a dozen bitches (I can't remember the exact entry) Belle went FOURTH under Judge Eric Brickson.  We are SO pleased with this placement in a Nationals show, not a pre-show but the "real deal".

In the 12-18 month class, out of 30 lovely bitches, we didn't make the cut but I know in my heart we were pretty darn close LOL.  I couldn't be more pleased with the effort my little Belle made for me.  It was a busy, exhausting week for her, totally out of her normal routine, and she gave me 200% every time we stepped in the ring.

Love you Bellie-girl.
